  2. A single coach may supervise multiple teams.

  • Participant Conduct
  1. Participants are expected to solve problems independently during the competition.

  2. All participants must communicate respectfully with teammates, opponents, volunteers, and judges.

  • General Rules
  1. There are no separate preliminary or final rounds; all teams will participate in the same number of rounds.

  2. Tasks will be marked on the field with labels.

  3. Final rankings will be determined based on total points earned across all rounds.

  4. The competition committee reserves the right to modify the rules depending on the number of participants and venue conditions.

<Competition Operation Guidelines>

  • Drone Programming
  1. Programming and debugging must be done in designated areas within the venue.

  2. Participants must check in before entering the warm-up zone and may only carry equipment necessary for the competition.

  3. Judges may inspect belongings, and drones can only be assembled before entering the warm-up zone.

  4. During the competition, accessing online resources, taking field photos or videos, and communicating with coaches or parents is strictly prohibited.

  5. Participants must check their next round time and follow the designated order.

  • Warm-up
  1. Participants must move to the warm-up zone at the designated time. Late arrivals will be disqualified from that round.

  2. After entering the field, participants must stand near the drone base.

  3. Drones must be placed on the base, and part of the drone’s top-down projection must be within the base.

  4. Flight preparation must be completed within 1 minute, and the judge must be signaled once ready.

  • Drone Flight
  1. The drone must take off from the ground.

  2. The judge will initiate a countdown (e.g., “3, 2, 1, Start!”) when all is ready.

  3. Flight is only permitted after the word “Start!” is announced.

  4. Flying before “Start!” may result in warnings or penalties.

  5. Drone parts must not be intentionally detached or dropped. Accidentally dropped parts must be retrieved and restored after the round.

  6. Structures carried away by the drone cannot be returned to the field, except for blue balls.

  • Retry
  1. If the drone lands outside the drone base, a retry is allowed.

  2. The field layout must remain unchanged during retries, and the drone must be repositioned on the base.

  3. Points already earned will be retained, but structures used in the failed attempt may no longer be used and will be stored by the judge until the end of the round.

  4. Multiple retries are allowed per round, but the timer continues to run regardless.

  • Returning to Drone Base
  1. Drones may return to the base multiple times.

  2. A return is considered successful if part of the drone’s top-down projection is within the base.

  3. After returning, the drone may be picked up and adjusted or repaired.

  • End of Competition
  1. Each round lasts 180 seconds.

  2. To stop a round, raise your hand and say “Stop!” If approved by the judge, the timer will stop and the round ends.

  3. After each round, the judge will review and announce the score.

  4. If an error is found, the score may be corrected. If there are no objections, the participant must sign the score sheet to confirm.

  5. After the final round, the field must be reset, and drones must be returned to the warm-up zone.

<Scoring System and Bonus Points>

  • Scores are dynamically calculated based on the drone’s performance.

  • If a task structure is knocked over or moved by a drone or participant during the competition, the corresponding task score will be invalidated.

  • For details on each task’s score, refer to the “Tasks and Scoring” section.

  • The order in which tasks are completed does not affect scoring. Optional Mission: Intellectual Property Challenge (Bonus: 80–100 points)

1. Mission Overview : Participants (teams) who take part in the Intellectual Property (IP) Mission and submit their idea will receive a bonus of 80 to 100 points, depending on the evaluation. This mission is optional and only applies to teams who choose to participate. It offers a valuable opportunity to briefly share your creative idea on the day of the competition and earn additional bonus points. Rather than submitting a complete report, the focus should be on presenting the core concept and originality of your idea.

2. At the competition venue, various award-winning examples of trademarks, designs, and inventions that creatively incorporate Jeju’s local culture will be on display. Please refer to these examples to help you brainstorm and develop your own ideas. Submit your idea to the designated location by 2:00 PM on the day of the competition.

3. Mission Task : On the day of the competition, teams will choose one of the IP-related question types presented on-site. Use the provided simple idea form to describe the key points of your idea and submit it accordingly.

4. Example Question Types

          1) Design or trademark idea related to your team’s drone or project

          2) AI or technology idea that can be applied to your team’s drone or project

5. Evaluation & Bonus Points : Submitted ideas will be evaluated based on originality, specificity, and the feasibility of securing actual intellectual property rights.

<Safety Rules and Disqualification Criteria>

  • Safety Rules

1. A lock/unlock mechanism must be implemented on all drones to prevent accidental activation.

2. Unless otherwise approved, all drones must have propeller guards installed.

    • The timer will be reset.

    • On the second occurrence, the team will be disqualified from the round.

  3. Unauthorized Operation

    • Only designated participants may operate the drone during the competition.
